Dan James

Australia

Born on a small cattle farm in Queensland, Australia, James' lifelong passion for horses began at just six weeks old. His journey with horses started with a family milking goat and quickly progressed to his first pony and colt. Driven by an insatiable curiosity about training and understanding horses, James pursued his studies at Longreach Pastoral College before embarking on a global quest to deepen his knowledge.

James has gained diverse experience by starting colts in Hokkaido, Japan, managing over 300 horses annually at Washpool Lodge, Australia, and working with cutting horses under trainer Punk Carter. He has studied Liberty training with renowned expert Heath Harris and managed horses on a Western Australian cattle station.

James has competed successfully across multiple disciplines, including Dressage, Show Jumping, Eventing, Camp Drafting, Cutting, Reining, and Colt Starting. His performance horses, Ari, Amelia, and Apollo, are key members of his DDH Team.

A two-time international World Champion Colt Starter and multiple Freestyle Reining Champion, James has also earned accolades such as the “Way of the Horse” at Equitana Asia Pacific in 2008 and the Road to the Horse International Colt Starting World Championship in 2012. He has represented Australia at the 2018 World Equestrian Games and captivated audiences with his innovative training techniques and exceptional showmanship.

Beyond competition, James has worked on various TV, film, and photography projects, including appearances on the TV show *Heartland*, the 2016 Versace Spring campaign, and Vogue’s 125th Anniversary, among others. His elite horsemanship and charismatic horses continue to be in high demand.

Bobby Kerr

USA

Without Bobby Kerr, the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame as we know it today would not exist. Fueled by his passion for the western lifestyle, Kerr co-founded the Hall of Fame with his wife, Susan, in Hico, Texas, in 1997. In 2001, the museum relocated to the Fort Worth Stockyards, and Kerr passed leadership to the Hickman family.

A seasoned horse trainer with over 40 years of experience, Kerr has competed in roping, reining, working cow horse, and cutting. His skill in training mustangs into exceptional trick horses led him to perform rodeo acts across the nation, including his signature “Good and Broke Limo,” where his horse rides in the passenger seat as Kerr exits the arena.

Kerr’s accolades include the 2017 PRCA Specialty Act of the Year, 2016 NFR Specialty Act, 2012 Supreme Extreme Mustang Makeover Champion and Fan Favorite, and the 2020 Extreme Mustang Makeover Champion. His other notable achievements are the 2020 Mustang Magic Celebrity Freestyle Champion, two-time PRCA Specialty Act of the Year (2017, 2019), and the 2013 IPRA National Finals Rodeo Showcase Champion.

In addition to his rodeo and training successes, Kerr is a talented craftsman, creating metal signs, motorcycles, and more with his son Cody. He has also produced several Texas Music concerts featuring top country artists.
