Take Home a Living Legend

The Mustang Magic Live Auction is your chance to own a living legend and change the life of a Mustang. Each horse has been worked with for roughly 100 days, giving bidders the unique opportunity to take home a Mustang that has already begun its gentling and training journey. The auction will take place January 24, 2026, Saturday night immediately following the Top 10 Finals at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, TX. Tickets are only required for the Finals; the auction is open to approved bidders and attendees.

This is more than a sale, it’s a chance to provide a forever home to a Mustang that has demonstrated its spirit, versatility, and potential. By participating, you’re supporting Mustang Champions’ mission to transition BLM Mustangs into private care, showcasing their abilities, and giving them the opportunity to thrive outside of holding. Every bid helps create a new beginning for these incredible horses.

LIVE ADOPTION AUCTION

How the Auction Works

After the Finals on Saturday night, every Mustang Magic competitor will enter the ring for a live adoption auction. Approved bidders will bid
in-person for the trainer-paired mustang they want to take home.

Accepted payment methods: cash, check, or credit card (credit cards include an additional fee; cash and check encouraged).

HOW TO APPLY TO BID

Become an Approved Bidder

All bidders must be approved before participating.

  • Apply on-site during Mustang Magic.

  • Wild Horse and Burro staff will provide blank bidder applications.

  • Staff will review applications, approve qualified bidders, and assign bidder numbers on the spot.

Meet The Mustangs

Throughout the weekend, spectators are invited to spend time with the competitors and their mustangs.

  • Check the schedule and attend Meet the Mustangs socials to talk with trainers and learn each horse’s personality.

  • Visit the barns to see mustangs in their stalls.

  • Watch them compete in preliminary classes to understand their abilities.

  • Follow them on social media.

No ticket required for general access to the event. A ticket is required for Friday, Jan. 23rd Horses and Horsemen of The World, and Saturday, January 24th Top 10 Finals and Auction.
